What’s the difference between designing for the offices of a professional sports team versus your basic, run-of-the-mill business? Not much, says Joan Kaufman, principal interior designer and president of the Naperville-based Interior Planning & Design Inc. Kaufman’s company took on the design challenge of outfitting a new look of the front operations offices for the American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves hockey team in spring 2008. Since completing the Glenview-based offices in August 2008, she says that one of the few interior design differences revolves around security.
