The owner of this Naperville home wanted to let daylight into her circa 1945 kitchen and transform it onto a larger, more inviting and contemporary space, reminiscent of her Florida home. Working with the homeowner, Joan Kaufman of Interior Planning & Design, Inc. created a space with double the cabinet storage, and an island and peninsula bar area. The ceilings were raised and vaulted and a new maple veneer beam was added to match the cabinets below. Skylights and a new sunroom adjacent to the kitchen bathe the space in natural light.
