Many clients just want a little advice and they’re off shopping. “I had one client–I gave them a plan and they went out to Home Depot and I never heard from them again,” Kaufman recalls.
But then there are those people who hire designers to redo the whole house.
“I have clients who give me their keys and alarm codes when they’re out of town,” Kaufman says. “I coordinate all the deliveries, and when they come home, they have a house full of furniture.”
